FAQ about our Round Robins – these pertain to all of our Round Robin Tournaments
- What is a Round Robin and how does it work? A round robin tournament is a format where every participant (team or individual) plays every other participant an equal number of times, ensuring fairness and maximizing playtime. The winner is typically determined by the best overall record—wins, draws, and losses—accumulated over several rounds rather than single-elimination.
- Flexible Play? Yes….you decide when and where you will play your opponent.
- Who do I play when? A Tournament will have a START DATE and END DATE. You may play anyone in the tournament at any time, just insure you play every player in your tournament before the END DATE.
- When will it begin? As soon as 5-8 players join the tournament in your borough register and submit payment. Do not submit payment until it is requested.
- How are people bracketed in a tournament? First by play level, then by location. You will not be playing anyone out of your County unless they agree to travel to you.
- How long will the tournament take? Typically games must be played within 10-14 days, so possibly 2 months or so.
- *HYPER LOCAL –TOURNAMENTS WILL BE PLAYED BY BOROUGH (means opponents will be located as close to one another as possible which means less travel.)
- An out of Borough player can play in a tournament, but they must agree to travel to the Borough where the tournament is located. Example: if someone is located in Manhattan and wants to play in the Brooklyn tournament, they MUST agree to travel to Brooklyn.
- Will there be multiple tournaments? Yes, there will be a tournament for Manhattan, Brooklyn, Staten Island, The Bronx and Queens.
- What is the cost? Do NOT SUBMIT PAYMENT yet, (see individual tournament cost on page) you will be notified when we are about to start when we have enough players
- Singles or Doubles? These are co-ed Singles Tournaments, we may offer Doubles/Mixed Doubles shortly.
- Are prizes being prizes offered? Yes, trophies & USTA gear.
- Balls – Each player must bring an unopened can of balls, one can is opened, the winner takes the unopened can.
- Winner? If there is a tie in a Flight. The player with the most amount of Set Wins is the winner or if you have played and won against the person you are tied with, the winner of that match will be considered the winner of the Flight.
