JerseyTennis.net is a group of tennis lovers that play just for the love of the game. We have successfully run LOADS of adult tournaments as can be seen here. Some of us started as youngsters, loads of us started later in life. One thing we ALL have in common is just the “love of the game”.
All Youth Tournaments are “Open Play” meaning, players (parents) agree on a mutually agreeable time and location to meet and play.

Our youth tournaments are geared for the young players that are just starting out and want to challenge themselves against some of their peers. These are not strict competitive tournaments (like the USTA) these are more directed to players just starting and want to get the feel of how they rate amongst other players in the same age bracket. (FUN TOURNAMENTS ANOTHERWORDS). Our goal is to give your child a fun introduction to a little competitive tennis.
FAQ ….about our tournaments -Please read before you ask silly questions
- Why would I enter my child in one of these tournaments? JerseyTennis.net tournaments are geared to FUN, not necessarily highly competitive. We discourage parents from entering children that are HIGHLY advanced. These tournaments are geared to the youth who are just starting out.
- IMPORTANT—Parent/Guardian participation – Parents/ Guardians MUST be present and stay at all matches, no representative will be there from Jerseytennis.net.
- Who can participate? Any youth between the ages specified on the tournament. Each tournament will be specified male/female/coed etc. but all will be singles tournaments. Tournaments from 10 U to High School level.
- When and where are the tournaments held? Tournaments are “Open Play” meaning, players (parents) agree on a mutually agreeable time and location to meet and play. Typically brackets are updated (via email) weekly and players have approximately one week to get the match in.
- How and who report results? Each tournament will have a “Match Reporting” page
- How are the tournaments run? Approximately 1 week prior to projected start date you will receive an email with 2 attachments
- Contact list: this will be a list of all players (parents) participating including phone, email, location and level.
- Bracketing: The brackets will be set based on location (not necessarily play level). This way you won’t have to drive too much.
I will try my best not to match up and beginner with and advanced player) I will ATTEMPT to match up same genders if I can in the first couple of rounds if possible. (But no guarantees.)
- Will there be travel required? Yes, but we try bracket by location first so less travel will be required in early rounds. As your child progresses up the bracket more travel may be required.
- COUNTY GUIDE– use this to determine your location status
- North Jersey Counties = Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Morris, Passaic, Sussex, Warren
- Central Jersey Counties = Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Somerset, Union
- South Jersey Counties = Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Ocean
- How are children bracketed? On the registration form there will be fields for such things as: Age, Play Level, Experience etc. From that form we will decide on bracketing to match them so both players enjoy the experience. We typically bracket first by location (less travel) then by level.
- What is the cost? Each tournament cost will be posted on the registration form. Visit Youth Tournament page here
- Will prizes be offered? Yes, depending on the number of participants, trophies and USTA gifts will be rewarded to 1st and 2nd place.
